National Nature Reserve Kent

An ecological haven and site of special scientific interest

Project Details

Our Kent landscape architecture project is a site of huge ecological importance not least for the diverse array of rare and unusual birds that nest there. It is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), a Ramsar site and a special protection area.

The family who live and work there have sensitively expanded the repertoire of this incredible place from it’s roots as a working farm into an off-grid retreat and quite extraordinary wedding venue.

We are privileged to be working with them on an exciting new project set to further enhance the experience of this place as a whole whilst still protecting the biodiversity and ecology therein.

This is a place truly close to our hearts and a family who’s environmental and sustainable ethics align with our own. It is a true and wonderful challenge to design for a landscape where keeping the integrity of the place is so important and as with everything that has come before us here, the details will need to be second to none to hit the mark.
