Garden Design London

Scandinavian simplicity

Project Details

This project was a terrace garden design in London for a beautifully renovated Victorian property in the up and coming borough of Walthamstow, London. The clients wanted to maximise the potential for their outdoor terrace to become an extension of their stunning Scandinavian inspired interior. The main living area of the house had bespoke bi-fold doors which extended the entire width of the garden. This allowed the potential for the two spaces to feel like one whole when the garden was in use.

Our clients were young professionals seeking a place to wind down and entertain friends and family. Their own small piece of tranquillity in a busy city life.

The design maximised all the available space; creating bespoke seating, a fire pit and cooking facilities. A simplistic palette was used to reflect the Scandinavian feel with natural woods and pastel colours playing a key role. On a small site, we were also able to make a feature out of the boundaries using this palette to match the outside wall with the interior colour to give the illusion of one whole space when the bi-fold doors were open.

The design needed to reflect the simplicity of the client’s thoughtful, minimalistic lifestyle and therefore although the aim was to create a space which appeared unassuming; every detail was carefully considered to be beautiful and well placed creating harmony within the space.
